Machine Operator

  • Due to the nature of work performed at this site all applicants must have held an active DoD Secret Clearance within the past year.

  • This is an opportunity to join Curtiss-Wright Surface Technologies' new metal surface treatment technology team that is the world leader in this field. Work in a new state-of-the-art facility performing laser peen processing of advanced aircraft structures at Hill Air Force Base (Ogden, Utah). The right individual will have the opportunity to be a part of a team responsible for maintaining the airframes of our nation's newest warfighters and be crossed trained on various aspects of laser treatment for potential advancement within the company. 

    Location: Ogden, Utah

    Hours: 1st Shift: 7:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. (possibility of moving to second shift in future)

    Your Challenge:

    • Set-up of the process cell using various types of robotic and optical controls.
    • Operation of the high-energy laser system after suitable training.
    • Reading and understanding work instructions.
    • Working in a small, hi tech job shop environment with flexibility to support other tasks as necessary.
    • Working with Microsoft Windows and/or Linux based computers and programs.

    Your Expertise:

    • Due to the nature of work performed at this site all applicants must have held an active DoD Secret Clearance within the past year.
    • Must pass a standard eye examination. Near vision: Snellen 14/18 or better (20/25 or better, Jaeger Type 2 at 14 inches or greater, Ortho Rater 8 or equivalent).
    • A high school diploma, GED or equivalent required. 
    • Some experience in a fast-paced, time-sensitive machine operation, production environment.
    • Experience in aerospace related industries a definite plus.
    • Laser or CNC/NC machining experience.

    This position may require exposure to information which is subject to US export control regulations, i.e. the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) or the Export Administration Regulations (EAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of U.S. regulations.
