The Opportunity | Motor Controls Engineer
Work on a variety of brushless DC motor controller5s, including software and analog based designs. Develops system and high-level software requirements to meet customer needs. Works to create and manage software to those requirements. Software development process must follow DO-178 and/or DO-254 processes. Software may be generated internally, or contracted out to an aerospace software supplier. Create model based of C-code to support military projects or early development tests. This opportunity focuses on products with Brushless DC motor technologies. Due to our work with US military, all applicants MUST be a US citizen.
Your Challenge

  • Develop software requirements documents in support of aircraft customer projects.

  • Work with internal systems and electrical engineering design teams to create effective system level and software designs.

  • Interact with customers to correctly capture and document software needs and requirements.

  • Support selection and oversight of outside vendors performing software development.

  • Support qualification testing of new aerospace controllers.

  • Create software for test integration usage as needed (C-code or model based).

  • Work on Brushless DC motor controls in general, analog and digital.
Your Expertise:

  • Bachelors' degree in an Engineering/Aerospace related discipline, and 5+ years of work experience.

  • Experience with DO-178 or DO-254 software processes is essential, along with software requirements generation.

  • Experience with C-Code and model based software code generation.

  • Working knowledge of current processor availability and usage.

  • Strong technical understanding of brushed and brushless DC motor operation and performance.

  • Experience with a variety of brushless DC motor control types.

  • Working knowledge of linear actuators, inductive position sensors and mechanical gear trains is desirable.

  • Highly proficient with the Microsoft suite of products.

  • Broad knowledge of DO-160 and MIL 810 standards and test procedures.
