Senior Accountant

We are in search of a Senior Accountant. This position is responsible for providing professional accounting support to a variety of financial functions for the Business Unit, including monthly financial statement reporting and analysis, cost accounting, budgeting, and variance analysis, among others. This position will report directly to the Assistant Unit Controller.

This position will oversee see all aspects of accounting, fixed assets, prepaids, help in internal/external audits, and financial reporting and analysis. The candidate must display integrity and have a desire for professional growth.

Your Challenge:

  • Perform all related accounting functions required to maintain the general ledger in compliance with GAAP and CW company policy and procedures
  • Coordinate month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities to ensure timely reporting
  • Performs advanced or specialized work that requires comprehensive knowledge of accounting theory and principles
  • Analyzes financial information and financial status to support various internal and external audits to ensure compliance
  • Lead peers in various projects; participates in department process improvement initiatives.
  • 4-6 years relevant experience in Month-End, Quarter-End, Year-End closing activities
  • Assists in developing Actual Vs Budget Vs Forecast model to understand gaps and opportunities
  • Ensures Sarbanes Oxley compliance in accordance with CW standard policy and procedures for financial reporting
  • Performs complex statistical analysis to determine trends, estimates, significant changes, and writes narrative reports explaining findings
  • Works with the team to streamline processes for efficiency and effectiveness and deliver more useful reports and analysis
  • Analyze financial data and generate monthly trend reports and balance sheet reconciliations ensuring financial statement accuracy
  • Oversee fixed asset tracking and reconciliations including monthly depreciation

Your Expertise:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • At least 4-6 years of recent manufacturing accounting experience preferably within a public company
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Strong Competence of picking up systems and processes
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are required
