Curtiss-Wright Industrial Division, which includes the legacy brands of Arens Controls, Penny & Giles, PG Drives Technology and Williams Controls, is an excellent supplier in providing components and sub-systems which enable customer specific solutions for on- and off-highway vehicles. These include medium- and heavy-duty trucks, buses and motor coaches, construction and agricultural vehicles, materials handling, and other specialty vehicles, as well as sophisticated wheelchairs and scooters for medical mobility.

We are an excellent provider of electronic throttle controls, transmission shifters and sensors for commercial off-highway equipment and heavy trucks, so helping to address the long-term trend towards attaining higher fuel efficiency and lower emissions. Senior Director, Sales & Marketing (Industrial)

The Senior Director, Sales and Marketing will be the strategic leader of all global sales and marketing activities and resources for Curtiss-Wright's entire Industrial Division. They will oversee the development and implementation of all domestic and international sales policies, objectives and initiatives. They will be responsible for directing the complete sales process and team with the objective of maximizing order closure and sales revenue. This individual will direct market research activities, including measurements of current market segments such as historical trends, growth rates, economics and competition, as well as future market opportunities to ensure the Industrial Division has adequate information and understanding of all markets.

Your Challenge:

  • Plays a key leadership role in the annual strategic planning process for the Division including market analysis, strategic growth initiatives and the long-term sales forecast.
  • Formulates sales and marketing strategies consistent with both market factors and defined Division goals which will produce maximum market penetration with the new customers and programs within targeted market.
  • Analyzes geographic sales results and works with sales management across the Division to develop and implement sales strategies in support of these goals and strategic growth initiatives.
  • Ensure organizational structure is optimized to meet Division's strategic objectives and Go-to-Market strategies; ensure the right people are in the right roles; manage the Sales Incentive Compensation Plan (SICP) and other compensation elements (LTI, MICP, merit plan) to reinforce desired behaviors.
  • Strategically manage outside sales resources such as Distributors and Sales Representatives as part of the overall Go-to-Market strategy.
  • Plans, organizes and develops Division's sales organization to produce optimum growth and profitability; measures the existing markets and company's share; monitors market developments and customer feedback; updates sales forecast by business unit on a monthly basis.
  • Develops product marketing plans and specifications to ensure a competitive offering and market acceptance of key features and functions at the targeted price point.
  • Ensure annual marketing plan and budget supports brand objectives and new product introductions.
  • Establishes and maintains close personal contact with top echelon customers, cultivating future projects and new opportunities.
  • Conduct annual customer survey and ensure feedback is shared within the Division.
  • Provide various monthly and quarterly reports as needed by Corporate and Division leadership.
  • Manages Talent Development within the Sales & Marketing organization including succession planning, competency rankings, and development plans - identifying critical gaps and action plans to address them.
  • Manages Division sales and marketing budget and investments in tools, equipment, CRM software, and market data services and reports.

Your Expertise:

  • Strong oral and written communication and presentation skills with knowledge of MS Office.
  • Must be technically savvy, have analytical skills, problem solving skills, and possess financial and business acumen
  • Technical understanding of electronic and electro-mechanical products
  • Strong people management and talent development skills
  • Have a customer focus, action oriented, and strategic mindset
  • Proven ability to drive results and ensure accountability
  • Ability to manage ambiguity effectively
  • Collaborate and work closely with various levels and departments within the organization
  • Proven ability to build networks in a global role whilst maintaining cultural awareness
  • Experience with global sales and marketing
  • Familiarity with CRM systems such as Salesforce.com and the business use of social media such as LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, YouTube and Instagram
  • Possess technical sales management background with 10-15 years' experience as well as 7+ years management experience.
  • Expatriate experience is desired, but not required
