Senior FPGA Engineer

Do you have the WRIGHT talent? We are looking for a Senior FPGA Engineer to join our engineering team. You will design and develop new FPGA-based designs targeting ruggedized COTS VPX modules as well as the support of existing products. You will work from concept development, writing product specifications, test plans, VHDL/Verilog coding right through to simulation. You will be responsible for FPGA functional allocation, logic design, HDL coding, simulation, synthesis, place & route, and bitstream generation. You will support the layout of the card and the building, test, and debug of prototypes as well as the support of new products during environmental testing and entry into production.

Your Challenge:

  • Develop new FPGA designs from marketing requirements through release to manufacturing.
  • Support existing FPGA products.
  • Generate complete and accurate user and design documentation
  • Mentor other junior-level FPGA Engineers

Your Expertise:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or equivalent
  • 5 yrs + experience in FPGA hardware development.
  • Experience with VHDL and Verilog. SystemVerilog is a plus.
  • Experience developing simulation test benches with Modelsim/Questa.
  • Experience with Xilinx ISE/Vivado tools
  • Experience with IP integration tools such as Vivado IP Integrator.
  • Experience with hardware test equipment -- logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, etc.
  • Experience with Actel/Microsemi/Altera is an asset.
  • Experience with Xilinx 7-series, Zynq MPSOC, Ultrascale, and Ultrascale+ device families is an asset.
  • Experience designing with embedded processors and C software development is an asset.
  • Familiarity with principles of high-speed digital circuit board design including signal integrity concepts.
  • Experience with requirements capture, analysis, and tracking is an asset
  • Proven communication/interpersonal skills
  • Strong sense of responsibility, commitment to quality, and achieving deadlines
