Job Description

The Opportunity | Business System Developer

The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving continuous improvement by developing new IT management tools and standardized reports to drive improvements across the organization. The individual will support the organization with process & technology based solutions, eliminate roadblocks and support the business. 

Location: Bethlehem, PA (greater Philadelphia area)

The Challenge:

  • Implement continuous improvement-based electronic solutions throughout the organization

  • Demonstrate ability to work with cross-functional teams across the organization to drive improvements

  • Develop electronic-based internal processes to reduce non-value added activities and provide improved business results

  • Develop and standardize reports to drive improvements throughout the organization

  • Understand data needs and be able to translate into usable tools

  • Provides technical consulting on complex projects.

  • Analyze complex process flows, identify redundancies and develop roadmap for realization and results

  • Manage current data management demands and ensure projects are in line with best practices, business priorities and continuous improvement initiatives

  • Stay current in the use of the latest technology in machine monitoring, inventory management, business analytics, and associated tools

  • Working with customers and functional staff in the resolution of software problems and respond to suggestions for software modifications or enhancements

  • May support multi-site or cross-BU needs 

Your Expertise:

  • Strategic Focus with the ability to develop and drive strategic improvement plans, and provide input to key positions about improvement opportunities

  • Experience working with Oracle development reporting tools

  • Functional implementation experience in the core ERP system modules (WIP, INV, BOM, OM, PO, MRP, ENG)

  • Experience in Oracle Application Express (APEX), Oracle Application Development Framework (ADF) and development of java based SOA applications

  • Functional understanding of order to cash, procure to pay and MRP Planning process flows is desirable. Should be able to relate process flows to data model and structures

  • Oracle Discoverer and Oracle Business Intelligence tool experience is a plus

  • Advanced experience with Microsoft Access, Excel and MS SQL


  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science, related degree or equivalent experience

  • Minimum of 10 years experience developing electronic solutions in a manufacturing environment

  • Continuous improvement experience preferred

Must be US citizen and be able to obtain and maintain DOD security clearance
