CNC Programmer

With minimal supervision, the position is responsible for developing manufacturing process and generating CNC machine programs to support the machine shop. The CNC Programmer may coordinate new CNC programs loading, set up and program proofing as well a source specialized tooling and fixturing required to support new programs. The programmer determines time standards and makes recommendation for tooling and process requirement for new and existing product lines.

Your Challenge:

• Analyze drawings for machining methods, determine tooling requirements, source tooling
• Write program code for CNC machines. Manage upload/download of programs and assist in proving out programs. Maintain programs, process sheets and QC data sheets and participate in set-up reduction programs.
• Train operators in programs, tools, fixtures and quality data sheets..
• Generate and implement cost savings ideas.
• Design and implement fixtures.
• Participate in new equipment selection.

Your Expertise:

• 4+ years' experience in a similar role
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Certification in CNC Programming preferred
• Strong oral and written communication skills with knowledge of MS Office.
• A high level of competency in PC based software including Windows, CAD, CAM (SmartCAM preferred) is preferred
• High level of problem solving skills to research available resources with strategic thinking to ensure an organized environment
• Knowledge of basic electronic and mechanical assembly principles.

• Persistence required to ensure workflow is maintained, and should have self management, initiative, dependability, and time management qualities and attributes.

• Cam Experience; preferably Mastercam. Familiar with Macro Programs; preferably able to edit and follow Macros and Sub Routines.
