Job Description

The Commercial Graduate provides support to the Contracts team under supervision of the Senior Commercial Officer. This is an ideal role for someone wanting to develop their career down a commercial path. This would also be suitable for a newly-qualified graduate or who has completed LPC/bar training or other relevant degree. There are excellent career prospects, and opportunity for development and global travel.

Areas of responsibility will include (after training):

  • Review of contract documents including contract terms and conditions and correspondence as part of the bid evaluation and subsequent proposal process within area of responsibility;

  • Participation in negotiation of contracts with existing and prospective customers;

  • Responsibility for amendments and terminations to existing contracts;

  • Identification of commercial risks and mitigations, including ensuring compliance with internal policies;

  • Development of relationships with internal and external customers;

  • Provision of support to Contracts Team with customer claims;

  • Provision of contracts training to internal customers.

  • Works closely with Curtiss-Wright Legal Department.

Skills & Experience

  • Degree Qualified in a relevant field

  • Enthusiastic, highly driven and action oriented

  • Skilled written & verbal communicator including appropriate messaging and communications channels

  • Sharepoint knowledge would be preferred

  • Excellent attention to detail

  • Trustworthy and confidential (handles details of a highly confidential and critical nature)

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint

  • Creative, with an ability to use own initiative to solve complex problems

  • Open to working hours to suit the role (e.g. interactions with the US often run into the evening)
