The Opportunity | Director, Contracts & Technology Partnerships

Reporting to the Sr. Director of Contracts management, the candidate will be responsible for two primary functional areas:

  1. Strategic Technology Partnerships lead - Lead Curtiss-Wright Defense Solutions division stakeholders to drive Strategic Growth goals through the negotiation, ratification and through life maintenance of strategic partnerships with 3rd party product or technology partners. This position is not responsible for identifying the partnerships, but rather will lead all 3rd party negotiations and be the central point of coordination for all 3rd party relationships and own the relationship throughout its lifecycle (80%).
  2. Lead the U.S. East Contracts Management team. Directing a team of experts and senior managers who have overall responsibility for the successful operation of the assigned areas, provides contractual, negotiation and commercial business guidance to business unit leaders, sales and marketing staff, program managers and senior management (20%)

Your Challenge:

Strategic Technology Partnerships lead

The candidate is responsible for leading the evaluation and negotiation of 3rd party technology and product partnerships that support the implementation of Strategic Growth Initiatives. This individual develops key internal and external relationships with business stakeholders that conclude with signed product/technology partnership agreements.

  • Create and implement a process/procedure for the Defense Solutions Division for managing the strategic partnership process for the lifecycle of the partnership
  • Direct analysis, due diligence and review of potential new partnerships
  • Develop the strategy, negotiate and structure partnerships with 3rd party product or technology partners in accordance with Curtiss-Wright Strategic Growth Initiatives, with support from functional department stakeholders.
  • Develop key performance indicators (KPI's) for measuring the ongoing health and effectiveness of the relationship. Ensure internal stakeholders are aware of partnership performance
  • Proactively manage the relationship to ensure objectives are being met.

U.S. East Contracts Management Lead

The candidate will lead the U.S. East Contracts team comprising contractual responsibility for three (3) of the divisions business units:

  • Leads complex contract negotiations. Understands the business case and has an appreciation of financial/analytical issues and profit and loss implications
  • Interacts internally and externally with executive level management and assist in the creation and implementation of complex contractual options
  • Advise program and senior management of contractual rights and obligations and provides interpretation of terms and conditions and contractual options for solutions
  • Provides business and contractual advice and solutions, with executives and/or major customers.

Your Expertise:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Management
  • Multi-disciplined background or exposure to several operational disciplines, e.g. program management, manufacturing, project development/engineering, contracts
  • 10+ years of related work experience in a Contracts role, preferably within the Aerospace/Military Environment or technology design and manufacturing field
  • Prior experience at a technology company is required
  • Understanding of electronics technology is a preference
  • Supervisory/Management experience
  • A strong team player with a positive attitude; a proven collaborator within a team environment is a must. The position requires the candidate to work well within a team environment which includes Product Management, Contracts, Executive Management, Supply Chain, and Engineering.
