We are looking for a Director of Program Management at our Santa Clarita, California facility to help lead our business unit to success. You will be a highly enthusiastic leader with exceptional communication skills, leadership abilities, program management process knowledge, presentation abilities and demonstrated experience leading/coaching program management professionals. You will lead a total staff of  around 15-20 people in our Program Management Office to include our Program Managers and Customer Service team. This role will have primary focus on ensuring customer satisfaction through maintenance of schedules, on-time delivery, project status updates, and quality while maintaining project margins, cost controls, and developing/driving business plans.

If you have Director level experience in Defense/Aerospace industry and you were responsible for P&L, managed a team, and had the technical knowledge and experience to partner with our engineering functions to include Embedded Software, Systems, Electrical and Mechanical, this could be the opportunity for you!

What you will do:

  • Serve as focal point of communication between the customer and the Company across all programs

  • Provide oversight and leadership for program portfolio across BU; program performance, customer satisfactions, key account penetration, and business growth

  • Be responsible for program P&L including but not limited to: Budgets; Actual Costs; Estimates to Complete; Invoicing; Receivables and Unbilled Receivables

  • Establish structure, process and customer accountability culture in the Program Management Office centered around achievable program plans, risk management, schedule adherence and on-budget performance while achieving revenue, profitability and working capital objectives of the business unit

  • Accurately forecast, track and report contract revenue, program billing and invoice collections

  • Proactively manage customer escalations with clear and executable mitigation/recovery plans

  • Work with engineering & business development on proposals and negotiations

  • Simultaneously manage interdependent programs and interface with customers (internal and external) effectively

  • Coaching and mentoring; interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems

  • Lead business development culture and strategies across key accounts in PMO group

Your background:

  • Seasoned professional with demonstrated leadership experience with 18+ year of program/project management experience with at least 12 years of functional management experience

  • Progressively responsible management experience in leading an organization and with track record of producing results, meeting financial targets and leading organizational changes

  • Strong contract/scope/finance negotiations skills

  • Strong understanding of program management principles and process

  • Strong financial acumen and experience managing program P&L (ETC/EAC/Budgets/EVMS)

  • Excellent communication, written and presentation skills

  • Ability to juggle multiple priorities and resolve program recovery while meeting customer and business objectives while operating under unusual or extreme pressure

  • Considerable flexibility of methods required meeting programs goals

Education and Qualifications:

  • Advanced Degree (M.S. in Science/Engineering or M.B.A)

  • Understanding of U.S. government and DoD marketplace and experience with bidding and acquisition processes in the government sectors

  • Contracts, finance and/or legal background/certification/degree are a plus
