Job Description

Our software engineers meet a diverse range of challenges as they develop our products, including mathematically complex motor control algorithms, developing RTOS, multi-processor design, robust bus communications, and crypto-protection of our designs. As well as software engineers you could be working on protocols with systems engineers developing secondary off board products or interfacing with electronics hardware design engineers in ensuring correct operation of peripherals on board.


Your skills and experience:



  • The successful candidate shall be qualified to degree level in a relevant software/ electronics discipline

  • Have a minimum of 4 years proven experience developing software based products in an electronics environment.

  • Evidence working with 8 and 32 bit microcontrollers from various manufacturers such as ST Microelectronics, Microchip, Renesas, Atmel and NXP as well as legacy manufacturers such as Hitachi, Motorola, Freescale and NEC.

  • You will be an expert in C / C++ and have the ability to produce and modify simple assembler routines where needed.

  • Previous experience in safety critical / defensive programming is an advantage as is a knowledge of RTOS environments and UML.

  • Experience of the use of Linux for embedded systems would be a real plus.

  • You will also need to demonstrate an ability to support and mentor the other software engineers within the team.

The successful candidate could be working on architectural developments and coding designs for products with GPS, GPRS, GUIs, Bluetooth, Infrared control, pressure transducers, analogue joysticks, RS232, RS485, CAN-bus, Lin-bus protocols and/or current and speed control of 24vDC & 48vAC motors using PID, energy harvesting and more. Each of our teams is responsible for the full lifecycle of their project.
