Curtiss-Wright is looking for an Inspector to join our Indal business based in Mississauga. This is a varied role that will include supporting different teams in the business and as such the successful candidate will enjoy working in a range of areas and be comfortable working to changing priorities including receiving inspection, shop floor and welding inspections.

You will be self-motivated, have excellent attention to detail skills and able to work both independently or as part of a team. The successful candidate will also have demonstrated skills and experience working with CMM equipment.

Your Challenge:

  • Ensuring all work is performed according to the company Quality Management System (QMS) and that all parts meet customer specifications
  • Interfacing with in-house DND QAR during interim/final inspection of equipment.
  • Varied duties including receiving inspection, shop floor, weld and fabrication inspections
  • Working to support the Inspection team in any area needed to ensure all tasks completed in a timely manner
  • Working with CMM (coordinate measuring machine)
  • Creating reports and presentations to analyze data and putting together inspection plans

Your Expertise:

  • Minimum 5 years hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Graduate from an appropriate post-secondary program in Quality. Degree/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering would be an asset
  • Previous Quality Control/Assurance experience preferred.
  • Sound working knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing
  • MS Word and Excel (especially Excel).
  • Excellent mathematical and blueprint reading skills
  • Must have knowledge of calibration methods and standards.
  • Excellent communication skills, plus the ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a busy environment with minimal supervision. Proficient in the interpretation of complex engineering drawings, schematics, and process plans.
  • Superior skills in the use of metrology instruments.
  • Demonstrated skills and experience working with CMM equipment.

Desirable:

  • Business system experience ERP (Oracle)
  • Experience with a Quality Management Suite, such as TIPQA

This position may require exposure to information which is subject to US export control regulations such as the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
