The Opportunity | Manufacturing Engineering Manager

Curtiss-Wright is looking for a Manufacturing Engineering Manager to join our Gilbert, AZ facility. As the Manufacturing Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for managing a team of manufacturing engineers that support the mechanical assembly and machining operations within the Gilbert, AZ facility. Your role will be responsible for employment, training, motivation, process improvement, evaluation, and direction of the assigned staff.

Your challenge:

  • Provide leadership and guidance to the members of the manufacturing engineering teams

  • Establish tasks and goals for the teams, while ensuring the teams are successful

  • Act as an agent of change to drive continuous improvement and lean activities

  • Develop standards tools and standard work to create robust processes for the teams

  • Interact with other members of the leadership team (operations, design engineering, quality assurance, supplier quality/development and planning) to actively achieve the facility's goals

  • Use problem solving methodologies in order to determine root cause for manufacturing issues

  • Improve repeatability and manufacturability by implementing process controls and error proofing

Your expertise:

  • Bachelor's Degree in an engineering discipline

  • 7-10 years' of relevant experience, including a minimum of 3 years' management experience

  • Experience with team building, project management, and developing quality procedures

  • Strong oral and written communication skills and MS Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) experience

  • Refined soft skills required for coaching/mentoring

  • Excellent analysis and decision making skills

  • Project Management experience and familiarity in root cause and corrective action methodologies

  • Proven accomplishments in positions of leadership managing various levels of engineers and ability to interact with all levels of internal and external management

  • Experience with machining and/or assembly operations is a plus

  • Experience with Lean and/or Six Sigma is a plus
