An exciting and challenging opportunity to work and supervise a team in a newly built Curtiss-Wright facility in Summerville, SC! 

The Opportunity | Master Scheduler

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Master Scheduler will be responsible for establishing and maintaining the Integrated Master Schedule for manufacturing, test, quality, engineering, procurement, and Program Management. The Integrated Master Schedule includes planned production and new product development work. One would be responsible for establishing appropriate Work in Process and Finished Goods inventory levels to optimize working capital; mitigate material outages; and maintain continuous production flow. Demonstrated experience with Oracle MRP/ERP systems and project leadership, in addition to knowledge of product and manufacturing process. 

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, issue, and control production schedules to ensure an optimal flow of materials to meet production requirements with a strong understanding of manufacturing / MRP principles

  • Notify management of the status of work in progress, material availability, and potential production problems to ensure that personnel, equipment, materials, and services are provided as needed

  • Produce capacity plans and analysis to support business planning

  • Maintain weekly and monthly reports to communicate master production schedule performance

  • Develop capacity planning tools to determine if production will be constrained in future periods; level load the production plan, and identify potential corrective actions such as: working overtime, assessing equipment, outsourcing and/or expediting

  • Update new product development project schedules based on changes in the Integrated Master Schedule

  • Ensure resource optimization for the operation groups

  • Integrate with production team to determine the needs and constraints of the manufacturing factory through engagement with functional groups, and schedule work orders accordingly

  • Lead weekly production meetings

  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and comfortable working in a manufacturing environment

  • Able to communicate objectives and results to those below and above


  • Minimum seven years or more of experience in master scheduling and production planning required

  • B.S. in Engineering, Business, or a related field

  • Solid understanding of Production Planning and Production Scheduling best practices and principles is required

  • Strong decision making skills and ability to communicate clearly and in a manner that supports the business

  • Must be motivated and able to operate independently with some direction from supervisor and/or management

  • Advanced computer skills with working knowledge of Oracle MRP/ERP

  • Must be organized and possess time management skills and skills to adapt to priority changes

  • Previous demonstration of leadership skills would be an asset

  • Must be a sole US citizen and able to obtain and maintain DOD security clearance
