Mechanical Testing Supervisor
The Mechanical Testing Supervisor oversees all activities and personnel for the Mechanical Testing and Machine Shop Departments. You would manage members in the department; coordinate workflow, complete testing, analysis and report generation.

Location: Louisville, KY

Your Challenge:

  • Serve as resident mechanical testing expert and as a technical resource for others.
  • Exhibit and maintain a high level of engineering skills, keeping abreast of new developments in the field of mechanical testing and provide technical leadership in laboratory growth areas.
  • Coordinate and prioritize incoming jobs. Manage workflow to ensure due dates are met.
  • Conduct mechanical testing and evaluations and report on results.
  • Prepare quotes and interface with customers.
  • Develop and coach employees by providing training, reviewing work and conducting regular department meetings, one on one's, and performance appraisals.
  • Responsible for department operational and financial performance. Track and monitor performance metrics to achieve goals and objectives.
  • Provide support to the machine shop, i.e. programming support and drawings for fixtures. Ensure that machine shop equipment is fully functional and operating within the safety and quality requirements as outlined by the manufacturer.

Your Expertise:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field required; Master's Degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 4 years in a mechanical, engineering or related testing and/or laboratory environment with at least 2 years of additional or concurrent supervisory experience.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in and knowledge of metallic mechanical testing.
  • Demonstrated project management ability and ability to plan and execute multiple priorities.

This position may require exposure to information which is subject to US export control regulations, i.e. the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) or the Export Administration Regulations (EAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of U.S. regulations.
