Exlar, a business unit of the Curtiss-Wright Industrial division, designs, manufactures and sells a broad portfolio of precision electro-mechanical actuators for automation of machinery in global markets including defense, automotive manufacturing, energy and general industrial automation. 

The Opportunity | Planner

Must be able to work independently and collaboratively; plans, schedules, coordinates and/or monitors final approval of products through the production cycle. Works from customer orders, engineering plans and production specifications to establish production schedules, labor loading, and capacity requirements. Coordinates production plans to ensure materials are procured by buyers according to established schedules.

Your Challenge:

• Develops and maintains detailed schedules, production plans and material requirement lists in accordance with the ERP/MRP Production Schedule, for products, proposal efforts and/or production processes.
• Coordinate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Purchasing, Material Control, Quality and other departments to achieve optimum utilization of facilities in meeting production schedules.
• Provide input to management regarding concerns with scheduling challenges, production changes, material shortages, design changes and backlogs.
• Releases and maintains all appropriate approvals via ERP system and some required documentation.

Your Expertise:

• Associate's Degree but Bachelor's degree preferred
• 2-3 years of relevant industry experience
• Experience with buying, planning and exposure to buying preferably within a machine shop and/or manufacturing environment
• Strong oral and written communication skills with knowledge of MS Office
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

• Must be a self-starter, agile, detail and action oriented and communicate across multi-level, cross-functional teams.
