Job Description


Duties include the design and development of new FPGA-based designs targeting ruggedized COTS VPX modules as well as support of existing products. Concept development, writing product specifications, test plans, VHDL/Verilog coding and simulation. Responsible for FPGA functional allocation, logic design, HDL coding, simulation, synthesis, place & route, and bitstream generation. Support the layout of the card and the building, test and debug of prototypes. Support new products during environmental testing and entry into production.

Your Challenge:


  • Develop new FPGA designs from marketing requirements through release to manufacturing.

  • Support existing FPGA products.

  • Generate complete and accurate user and design documentation

  • Mentor other junior-level FPGA Engineers
Your Expertise:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or equivalent

  • 7 yrs + experience in FPGA hardware development.

  • Experience with VHDL and Verilog. SystemVerilog is a plus.

  • Experience developing simulation testbenches with Modelsim/Questa.

  • Experience with Xilinx ISE/Vivado tools

  • Experience with IP integration tools such as Vivado IP Integrator.

  • Experience with hardware test equipment -- logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, etc.

  • Experience with Actel/Microsemi/Altera is an asset.

  • Experience with Xilinx 7-series, Zynq MPSOC, Ultrascale, and Ultrascale+ device families is an asset.

  • Experience designing with embedded processors and C software development is an asset.

  • Familiarity with principles of high-speed digital circuit board design including signal integrity concepts.

  • Experience with requirements capture, analysis and tracking is an asset

  • Proven communication/interpersonal skills

  • Strong sense of responsibility, commitment to quality and achieving deadlines
