Prototype Shop Supervisor

We are looking for a driven individual to lead our Prototype Shop making a large variety of parts quickly, efficiently and with a high level of accuracy to support all our design initiatives. The individual will be embedded in our Design team and will enable our ability to innovate. From standard processes like CNC machining to new processes in 3D printing, this job requires a broad set of skills and someone who is an adaptable learner. We are looking for someone excited for any new challenge our Engineering team can put in front of them.

Your Challenge:

  • Organizes the part requests from Engineering and Manufacturing and plans and completes the jobs in the most efficient manner
  • Reviews and provides manufacturing feasibility input on new designs and prototype requests.
  • Plans and completes multiple processes from CNC machining, 3D printing, manual mill, water jet, manual and CNC lathe, press brake, powder coat and welding. Some experience in these areas are preferred but not required for all processes.
  • Maintains our reporting system that reflects schedules, performance, and procedures.
  • Is constantly reviewing the shop's capabilities and is looking at ways to streamline our processes or bring on new processes to improve our capabilities.
  • Manages standard inventory and interfaces with Purchasing for material needed for special jobs.

Your Expertise:

  • Technical/Trade School Required, Associate's Degree is Preferred
  • At least 7-10 years of experience in a similar role
  • Previous experience in CNC Machining, 3D Printing, manual mill, water jet, manual and CNC lathe, press brake, powder coat and welding are an asset
