The Opportunity | Senior Electrical Design Engineer

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, this position performs various analyses, design and/or assembly related to manufacturing and engineering projects. Develops, implements and maintains methods, operation sequence and processes in the manufacture or fabrication of parts, components, sub-assemblies and final assemblies. Estimates design / manufacturing costs, determines time standards and makes recommendations for tooling and process requirements of new or existing product lines. Maintains records and reporting systems for coordination of engineering operations. Supervisory experience a plus, potential growth opportunity leading to managerial position.

Your Challenge:

  • Complete very detailed failure analysis of customer returned products (LVDT)

  • Manage highly visible projects that are related to cost savings, error reduction and delivery improvements

  • Clearly communicate with external and internal customers, very detailed reports and new design presentations (CDR, PDR)

  • Fully learn and understand the LVDT winding development process and be capable to create new designs after internal training.

  • Results oriented with the ability to organize, prioritize and work on multiple projects simultaneously and manage project schedules.

  • Provide strong leadership and mentoring experience.

  • Continue and build upon our commitment to excellence and exemplary internal and external customer service.

  • Work though complex problems and collaborate with others to provide effective solutions.

Your Expertise:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering required.

  • 6-10 years of relevant industry experience -- aerospace plus

  • Ability to read and understand drawings and specifications.

  • Well-developed interpersonal skills. Ability to get along with diverse personalities, tactful, in addition, strong conflict resolution skills.

  • Knowledge of basic electronic and mechanical assembly principles.

  • Experience with mathematical concepts (probability and statistical inference, fundamentals of geometry and trigonometry) and apply concepts to practical situations.

  • Experience with CAD software and continuous improvement.

  • Monthly travel to our facility in Mexico is required.

  • Spanish language a plus
