Senior Engineering Technician

With minimal supervision, the Senior Engineering Technician supports engineering activities such as assisting Design Engineers in the task of performing design verification testing, designing test fixtures/cables/test boards to aid during development testing. Assist Test Engineers in the task of creating acceptance test procedures, test software; test boxes/test cables, and test cards for the introduction of the new products into full production. Will also be responsible for writing system-level acceptance test procedures will work on customer returns as required. Will work from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts troubleshooting to component level.

Your Challenge:

  • Experience in designing and building test boxes, test cables, and text fixtures.
  • Maintain accurate reports during development testing to provide to management and engineering.
  • Maintain and update test checklists as required.
  • Provide an accurate time when required by management or engineering to complete a task.
  • Experience in testing and troubleshooting digital and analog circuit boards to the component level.
  • Solid familiarity with lab test equipment (i.e. oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, multimeters).
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and be able to work in a team environment with a diverse group of development engineers, test engineers, engineering technicians, and manufacturing technicians.
  • Experience developing programs with Visual Basic and LabVIEW preferred.
  • Performs complex operational tests and tasks on sub-assemblies, systems, and equipment
  • Assists in determining methods or actions to remedy malfunctions.
  • May assist in training to lower-level Engineering Techs.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Your Expertise:

  • Experience any characteristics that would make the employee execute their job more effectively.
  • Experience or good understanding of network technology (i.e. Ethernet, IP)
  • Experience with working with a variety of interfaces, i.e. RS232/422, IEEE-1394b, Fibre Channel, PCM, Ethernet 100/1000BT + 10G.
  • Associates degree in Electrical Engineering/Electrical Technology preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years as a Senior Engineering Technician preferred 3 years of experience required.
