Senior Valve Design Engineer

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the Senior Valve Design Engineer will be a key member of the Dyna-Flo team. As a Professional Engineer (P.Eng) from a Flow Control Valves background, you will bring leading industry knowledge on design, best practice and code specifications.

The successful candidate will be experienced with a range of control valve designs from NPD (New Product Development) to modifications on existing designs with ease. With excellent presentation and communication skills you will collaborate with all levels of the business to plan and execute projects, exceeding deadlines. You will work effectively across all aspects of the business and be able to work independently under limited supervision to excel in all areas.

Your Challenge:

  • Driving designs at all stages from upgrading existing products to new product developments
  • Identifying new application control valves to expand the current product line globally
  • Responsible for the planning and execution of technical projects in the design and development
  • Defining and selecting new approaches and implementation of CAD software engineering application and design specifications and parameters.
  • Preparing design specifications, analysis and recommendations for presentation and approval.
  • Specifying materials, equipment and supplies required for completion of projects and evaluating vendor capabilities to provide required products or services.
  • Supporting the Department's activities in mechanical design, materials science, environmental testing, reliability and failure analysis.
  • Working with a variety of other engineering disciplines to facilitate timely design, fabrication and deployment of subsystems products.
  • Working within our ERP system to update Engineering data.
  • Analysis including thermal, stress & strain, and root cause.
  • Designing and Detailing of Drawings for Production. Working with production to offer support and advise, making modifications as necessary.

Your Expertise:

  • A minimum of 5 experience in Flow Control Valves (Globe, Ball, segmented ball)
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) licensed
  • Extensive knowledge of ASME Boiler & Pressure Vessel Code
  • Highly experienced with 3D design & simulation software
  • Proficient with Finite Element Analysis software and Computational Flow dynamics
  • Geometric dimensioning expertise
  • Proven experience with thermal, stress & strain and root cause analysis
  • Familiar with design parameters related to process equipment.
  • Possess excellent planning & analytical skills
