Sr. Manager, Sourcing

Reporting to the Senior General Manager of the EPD business unit, this is an ideal opportunity for an experienced Supply Chain leader to step into a challenging role, own it, drive success, lead change and quickly make an impact at Curtiss-Wright. Sound like you?

The ideal candidate will play a key role in developing and supporting business strategies as part of the EPD leadership team while leading the Sourcing team responsible for securing commodities and services that support our product lines. This position is a critical role within the organization and requires an individual who possesses strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication skills and someone who will take ownership to lead and drive change for continued success.

Your Challenge

  • Immediate task will be to assume responsibility of the Sourcing team, familiarize yourself with the Business unit and its activities, suppliers, internal and external customers, current strategy, business plans and policies
  • Champion change through the business to continually improve supplier and business performance
  • Responsible and accountable for the strategic direction of purchased commodities and services to achieve annual and long-term goals and objectives
  • Direct the activities of buyers and support personnel to accomplish departmental and company objectives
  • Take ownership of coaching and developing the Sourcing staff and recruit for staff as appropriate
  • Support business financial performance to ensure targets are being met
  • Evaluate existing policies and procedures for the continuous improvement of procurement activities
  • Manage supplier relationships to ensure OTD and Quality performance are meeting expectations
  • Identify areas of gaps or risks, and develop formal action plans to reduce risk and improve performance in the supply chain
  • Ensures Team's compliant execution of Government Approved Purchasing System (CPSR) and supplier's execution of purchase orders
  • Other duties as necessary

Your Expertise

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain security clearances
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or equivalent
  • Minimum of 10 years of purchasing and/or Supply Chain experience
  • Master's Degree in Business or Supply Chain Management and ISM (CPSM, C.P.M.) or other nationally-recognized certification in the field of procurement is strongly preferred
  • Experience in procuring in an electro-mechanical manufacturing environment
  • At least 5 years of supervisory experience in Defense industry procurement is strongly preferred
  • Strong knowledge and experience with Government contracting practices, including hands-on experience with FAR/DFARS, contract negotiations, and related laws and regulations
  • Understanding of Supply Chain Management operational concepts surrounding planning, scheduling, purchasing, supplier selection, inventory control, and logistics
  • Planning, negotiation, and execution skills essential, as are project management and strategic sourcing experience/skills
  • Demonstrated success in driving cost reductions and superior customer service
  • Lean and/or Six-Sigma experience and knowledge is preferred
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to energize and build consensus with staff, peers, and direct reports
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build and develop effective working relationships
  • Ability to develop and execute strategic plans
  • Self-starter, highly motivated, action-oriented, proactive, collaborative, and results-driven
  • Proven project management skills, developing action plans from strategic initiatives, and driving results through accountability
  • Ability to develop talent, both with individuals and diverse teams

Relocation:

Relocation offered if required to compensate some moving expenses to Bethlehem PA
