The Opportunity | Valve Mechanic

The person selected for this position will be working on manufactured goods, but will also be expected to help out on repairs or remanufacturing as well. This includes shutdowns, which means that some non-traditional hours will be worked. Your Challenge:

  • Pretests valves, performs taping on nozzles and discs.
  • Repairs and performs final settings of various valves and vents.
  • Completes test reports. Seats valve properly.
  • Operates boiler for testing steam service valves.
  • Acts as temporary team leader on shop and field jobs.
  • Maintains safety and cost awareness.

Your Expertise:

  • Minimum 5 years technical experience with Valves, Pumps or related products
  • Apprentice or Journeyman Millwright accreditation is an asset; High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Can demonstrate mechanical abilities and aptitude through work experience
  • Ability and willingness to work overtime when required
  • Proven work history of conscientious service, and a keen eye for detail.
  • Strong work ethic and the ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • Safety conscious, punctual and consistently available for work
  • Team Player

This position may require exposure to information, which is subject to US export control regulations such as the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
