The Opportunity | Warehouse Shipping/Receiving Clerk (Entry Level)

: Middleburgh Heights, OH (greater Cleveland area)

Under general supervision, the Warehouse Shipping/Receiver Clerk performs the physical or administrative tasks specific to shipping or receiving. Unpacks and checks goods received against purchase orders or invoices, maintains records of received goods and rejects unsatisfactory items. Posts weights and shipping charges and prepares goods for final shipment. Lifts heavy items and may operate a forklift. May prepare kitting packages for assembly production.

Your Challenge:

  • May prepare, load and unload shipments including documentation and verification.

  • Responsible for processing all material to include examination for damage, processing discrepancies, and delivery of material to stock locations.

  • Have the ability to perform final inspection using tape measures, calipers or other measuring devices. Will need to possess the ability to find circumference of a circle and understand units of measure such as square feet.

  • Package product for shipping via UPS, FedEx or freight carrier.

  • Utilize company computer system to enter shipping, receiving, and inventory transactions.

  • Recommend process improvements to reduce future discrepancies.

  • Assist with cycle count inventory.

Your Expertise:

  • 1-3 years of experience in a Material Handler, Warehouse or Order Picking role.

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

  • Forklift Certification is an asset

  • Driver's License is an asset

  • Computer skills is an asset

  • Ability to effectively communicate with others

  • Display an understanding of the importance of product quality and compliance to health and safety procedures

  • Comfortable lifting up 50lbs unassisted.
