Curtiss-Wright is looking for an electro-mechanical Assembly Technician to join our Production Team. The successful candidate will have experience with utilizing assembly equipment and tools; be highly motivated and have the ability to multi-task.

Location: Portland, OR

Your Challenge:

  • Assembles and tests electronic products having both hardware and software systems
  • Works as directed on daily work assignments to meet customer commitments
  • Follows Operations Methods Sheets in order to build product properly and minimize errors
  • Uses written and verbal communication to relate equipment and process information to other team members and support functions
  • Changes direction to accommodate work priorities as needed
  • Performs visual inspection of all components and finished subassemblies and finish products to specified criteria to ensure high quality
  • May work in other work centers and/or departments
  • Mechanical assembly of products can include:
    o Mechanical assembly of sheet metal enclosures
    o Simple soldering
    o Strip and tin wires
    o Wire to solder cups in connectors
    o Install hardware where needed
    o Follow prints
  • Operation of light machinery
  • Pre-testing of equipment before assembly
  • Cycling of equipment through electronic and environmental testing equipment

Your Expertise:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum of three years' experience with Electro-mechanical assembly skills, utilizing basic assembly equipment and tools, e.g., crimpers, cutters, soldering iron, screw drivers, drills
  • Read and understand drawings and wiring schematics
  • Follow procedures and adapt to new processes
  • Comfortable working directly with engineers
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Able to build cables, connectors and other simple electronics assemblies from sketches and other informal documentation
  • Work well under pressure
  • Previous experience using a personal computer with a Windows operating system required
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task and solve problems, think independently and act innovatively
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, sit and/or stand for long periods of time
  • Ability to work overtime as required
  • Accuracy and attention to detail is a must
  • Must be able to self-organize workloads and manage all deadlines
