The Controller assists the Sr. Unit Controller with the company's accounting practices, the maintenance of its fiscal records, the preparation of its financial reports (Monthly, Quarterly, Annually). They are required to assist the Senior Unit Controller with the preparation and implementation of its financial plans and policies. This role also oversees the preparation and input of annual budgets and monthly forecast, the analysis of variances from plans and forecasts as well as acting as acting as the liaison for Sarbanes Oxley Compliance (SOX), Internal Audits & External Audits. Capital Expenditure Oversight of spend and Forecasting for the Group. Review of Bids from a financial perspective. This position is a key member of the BU Management Team and will be expected to Deputize for Sr. Unit Controller as needed.

Your Challenge:

  • Ensures compliance with GAAP and other regulatory or governmental requirements such as Sarbanes-Oxley Compliance (SOX), Cost Accounting Standards (CAS), and Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) as well as Corporate policies and procedures. Must stay attuned to early warnings of financial problems, and be able to provide suggestions on decisive action to resolve or address these problems
  • Assists with developing objectives, strategies and tactics from an accounting and financial perspective. Measures performance against company goals, reveals obstacles to growth and implements strategies for improvements. Identifies and evaluates fundamental issues, providing direction for major functional areas. Requires strong knowledge of the accounting function and familiarity with business strategies and company goals as well as the Local ERP and Global SAP/BPC Systems
  • Coordinates the preparation of monthly closing, annual and quarterly budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections to guide the financial management of the business unit(s).
  • Review proposals and appropriation requests, analyze ledger and module transactions, prepare special reports, handle routine and special projects, manage elements of A/R and A/P transactional flow, active participation in strategic planning process, support shared services groups, assist with payroll processing
  • Responsible for management and development for a small team
  • Acts as contact with Internal & External Audit
  • Daily interface with the Senior Unit Controller for guidance, direction and other related tasks/duties and Corporate Finance on issues regarding reports, analysis and workloads
  • Weekly/ Monthly interface with senior management and appropriate stakeholders to discuss budgets and forecasts and to provide analysis and advisement
  • Weekly/ Monthly interface with external creditors and debtors to maintain ongoing financial relationships
  • Working in an International environment with some exposure to BUs located outside of the US

Your Expertise:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field. MBA preferred,
  • CPA designation is required with a sound knowledge of GAAP rules and regulations
  • A minimum of 5-7 years of experience in finance and accounting in an Assembly/Manufacturing e environment ideally at a Controller/Finance Manager Level
  • Strong MS Office skills and previous ERP experience, ideally CSI Siteline
  • Good interpersonal team skills/ Proven Leadership/Results Driven/Presentation Skills
  • Ideally some exposure to Systems implementations or transitions
