The Opportunity | Manufacturing Process Engineer
Extensive experience in DFMA, tool and fixture design, estimating jobs for time and cost, and translating engineering drawings/feedback into manufacturing instructions relating to various production processes.


Location: Mississauga, ON


The Challenge:

  • Extensive experience in the manufacturing disciplines related to fabrication, welding, waterjet and plasma cutting, machining, painting, assembly and electrical assembly.

  • Estimations of manufacturing times and costs.

  • Assist in "make/buy" decisions and input to proposals.

  • Assist in drawing design and troubleshooting through the concurrent engineering process.

  • Analysis of drawing and test specifications, design, tooling and processes and implementation of DFMA.

  • Develop or improve production processes seeking out the most efficient and cost effective ways to design and make products.

  • Follows every reasonable precaution to ensure work is performed following the Health & Safety procedures. Immediately report accidents and incidents and participate in their investigations.

  • Ensure all work is performed according to the Quality Management System (QMS)




Your Expertise:



  • Mechanical or Industrial University or college degree

  • 5 years' experience in a job-shop environment plus 3 years' experience working with hands-on detailed program planning incorporating lean manufacturing techniques.

  • Experience in translating Engineering requirements using the company business system in entering bills of materials, family product structures, routing/work order instructions, including processes and tooling related to the various production departments.

  • Experience translating test plans into assembly level requirements.

  • Understand work flows in a manufacturing production environment.

  • Experience with assessing and costing repair and overhaul

  • Effective working relationships with cross functional teams through project life cycles, root cause analysis, cost reduction and process optimization.

  • Extensive experience in the manufacturing disciplines related to fabrication, welding, waterjet and plasma cutting, machining, painting, assembly and electrical assembly.

  • Estimations of manufacturing times and costs.

  • Assist in "make/buy" decisions and input to proposals.

  • Assist in drawing design and troubleshooting through the concurrent engineering process.

  • Analysis of drawing and test specifications, design, tooling and processes and implementation of DFMA.

  • Strong skills in MS Word, Excel and Access and in depth knowledge of MRP

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Experience working in a union environment
