The Opportunity | Planner

Under general supervision , implements the company's production control functions including any of the following activities: master scheduling, production planning/coordination, shop scheduling and dispatching, material requirements, planning systems, work-in-process tracking, material and labor variance controls. Responsible for inventory control (including offsite warehouse and onsite point of use inventory). Primary backup for incoming receiving and shipping department as needed.

Your Challenge:

  • Develops and maintains detailed schedules, production plans and material requirements lists in accordance with the Master Production Schedule, for products, proposal efforts (support to engineering) and/or production processes (both production and production improvement initiatives).

  • Coordinates with Engineering, Manufacturing, Purchasing, Material Control, Quality and other departments to achieve and meet production schedules.

  • Coordinates material requirements / transfers with other CWC sites as needed to support production.

  • Provides inputs/reports to management regarding problems such as scheduling problems, material shortages, design changes and backlogs.

  • Releases and maintains all appropriate paperwork. Responsible for scanning of paperwork and document retrieval.

  • Approves quantities, schedules and parts lists provided to the material control organization to ensure timely and complete ordering, as well as receipt and issuance of production material requirements.

  • Responsible for planning, reviewing, and developing production procedures

  • Creates and maintains reports to reflect scheduling, methods, support performance and process procedures

  • Responsible to plan the release of manufacturing orders and purchase requisitions. Determine appropriate action to offset schedule slips, material shortages

  • Responsible for cycle count data collection, reporting and inputs into material variances.

  • Strong mathematical skills and excel skills required.

  • Accountable for material transactions including ability to reconcile.

  • Strong understanding of ERP system required.

  • Evaluate and adjust production planning and order quantities to achieve optimum-inventory levels and maximum inventory turns.

  • Good project/task management abilities.

  • Demonstrated problem solving and analytical skills.

Your Expertise:

  • 2-3 years of relevant experience in a planning capacity.

  • Preferred CPIM Certification or Designation (or working towards CPIM).

  • Preference will be given to candidates with education in Supply Chain, Materials Planning or Business Administration with a specialization in a related field.

  • Available for overtime as required.
