The Opportunity

Production Manager

Location:

Under the guidance of the Operations Manager, the Production Manager is responsible for planning and managing production schedules to meet customer delivery requirements and best utilize the company's productive capacity. You will support the full coordination and timely and efficient production of all goods and components for the manufacture of ruggedized enclosures and electronic integrated systems for the defense industry. As the Production Manager you will support the optimization of the business strategic growth and supervise a small group of Mechanical, Electrical, and Test & Assembly staff.

Your Challenge:

  • Orders floor stock with shelf life material for production.
  • Releases jobs and manages work in process on the production floor.
  • Completes shipping information and delivery date input during sale order reviews.
  • Analyzes sales order releases with respect to capacity planning and material requirements.
  • Plans and manages production schedules to meet customer delivery requirements and best utilize the company's productive capacity.
  • Manages inventory levels, schedules and availability of selected items, either manufactured or purchased, to meet production schedules.
  • Receives and reviews sales orders against current requirements and work in process using the material requirement planning report.
  • Manages schedules based on the availability of selected items; either manufactured or purchased to meet production schedules.
  • Regulating from the first stage of procuring raw materials to the stage of finished goods.
  • Decision making for work force level, production lot sizes, assignment of overtime and sequencing of production runs.
  • Interfaces with manufacturing team, purchasing department and supervisors on material status and production planning issues.
  • Releases purchase order for non-inventory production materials.
  • Interfaces with manufacturing team, purchasing department on material status and production planning issues.
  • Works hands-on with production staff as needed
  • You will frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

Your Expertise:

A minimum of Five (5) years of relevant progressively responsible experience as a Production Management or Planning in a fast-paced manufacturing work environment is essential.

  • Production Planning using the company ERP System is required.
  • Competency in Microsoft Office Suite; Word, Excel, PPT.
  • Excellent Communication, Problem Solving and Collaboration Skills.
  • Must be able to co-ordinate with the various departments; Sales, Purchasing, Operations and Engineering in order to;
  • Determine the sequence of operations for continuous production.
  • Planning production floor capacity for future production programs.
  • Maintain production schedules to ensure delivery at proper time; improve on-time performance.
  • Planning from the first stage of procuring raw materials to the stage of finished goods.
  • Decision making for work force level, production lot sizes, assignment of overtime and sequencing of production runs.
  • Competency in Microsoft Office Suite; Word, Excel, PPT
  • ERP experience is highly desired.
  • Associates Degree with seven (7) years of relevant work experience in lieu of a Bachelor's degree.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Social Sciences, Economics, Supply Chain Management or Business Administration preferred.
  • A Degree in the Engineering field is an advantage
  • 901D is a defense contractor- U.S Citizenship is required
