Quality Manager

Develops, implements and maintains technical quality assurance and control systems and activities. Defines and specifies the implementation of standards, methods and procedures for inspecting, testing and evaluating the precision, accuracy and reliability of company products. Participates in the reviewing of engineering designs to contribute quality requirements and considerations. Assists product support areas in gathering and analyzing data. Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.

Your Challenge:

• Oversee multi-site quality control and quality assurance
• Oversees metrology department to ensure calibration of measurement equipment is maintained in accordance with quality assurance system.
• Develops and manages plans, guidelines, policies and processes, to ensure the achievement of quality targets.
• Develops the strategic direction, mission and vision for the Quality organization that supports overall organizational strategic direction, mission and vision.
• Foster a team environment of collaboration, respect, and continuous learning.
• Problems faced are often complex and require extensive analysis and investigation
• Requires ability to influence others to accept approaches and practices.
• Leads implementation of organization projects and processes to ensure overall quality is continuously improving.
• Oversees quality improvement processes to ensure on-going reductions in Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ) and escapes.
• Manages teams collecting and analyzing quality information from multiple sources to develop long-term quality strategy and programs.
• Manages teams providing production process analyses, ensuring quality standards are met and making recommendations for quality improvement.
• Develops and implements operations quality plans and procedures.
• Manages and maintains department budget requirements.
• Champion operations site APQP/ZDP initiatives.
• Participates in and supports site compliance (FAI, AS9100D) and customer Audits.

Your Expertise:

• Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Quality or Management
• 7-10 years experience managing people; direct interface experience in dealing with customer representatives.
• 5+ Years in Aerospace required
• 3+ years of experience in Lean & Six Sigma
• Knowledge of APQP / ZPD processes is preferred.
• Knowledge of Statistical Process Control is preferred.
• Strong oral and written communication skills with knowledge of MS Office.
• GD&T experience, ability to make compliance determinations, ability to understand statistical inference.
• Good presentation skills.
