Curtiss-Wright Industrial Division, which includes the product brands of Arens Controls, Penny & Giles, PG Drives Technology and Williams Controls, is an excellent supplier in providing components and sub-systems which enable customer specific solutions for on- and off-highway vehicles. These include medium- and heavy-duty trucks, buses and motor coaches, construction and agricultural vehicles, materials handling, and other specialty vehicles, as well as sophisticated wheelchairs and scooters for medical mobility.

We develop and manufacture electronic throttle controls, transmission shifters and sensors for commercial off-highway equipment and heavy trucks, helping to address the long-term trend towards attaining higher fuel efficiency and lower emissions. We also supply operator controls and advanced motor controllers for hybrid and electric vehicles, such as buses, forklift trucks, pallet stackers, wheelchairs, and rehabilitation chairs.

This is a key opportunity for an experienced Territorial Sales and Account Manager to join our Sales team responsible for sales, across Curtiss-Wright Control's Industrial range of electronics products. We are looking for a dynamic, driven and experienced individual to increase sales of Industrial Products in the Southern Germany and Austria through the development of existing and new accounts.

This is a home-based opportunity based in Germany that requires fluency in English and German. With proven experience, you will be seeking a challenging opportunity to further your market experience and excel as part of our Sales team. This role will require extensive travel.

Major Accountabilities / Deliverables

  • Grow sales of Curtiss-Wright Controls' Industrial Products in the defined territories across multiple markets that include but are not limited to On Highway, Off Highway, and General Industrial.
  • To manage defined Key Accounts, maximising sales and profitability and extending the sales reach within each account.
  • Meeting or exceeding the sales and design win targets for each calendar year provided by your manager.
  • Providing a territorial sales plans that defines target markets, target customers and competitors. It is expected that knowledge of the territory is developed through experience, research and customer visits. The plans should be submitted quarterly, and will include market research, target markets, target customers, capture plans and visit plans.
  • Maintain a record of such opportunities on the CRM system that will include the potential value, their status and expected closure date together with outstanding actions.
  • Where relevant, work with CW distributors and representatives in the territory, and their employees, such that opportunities can be identified, qualified and pursued in the respective territories.
  • Ensure that the distributors and representatives in the territory are fully trained in our products and are fully aware of the applications in which they are used.
  • Be aware of the order bookings in the defined territory, liaising with the Internal Sales Offices as required and taking action as required to bring in orders.
  • Ensure that sales leads are promptly followed up.
  • Provide quarterly sales forecasts by customer and product for the defined territory and markets. To work with the Internal Sales Offices as necessary, providing forecasts when requested which will be used by the factories for planning.
  • Liaise with the internal sales offices such that quotations and proposals are promptly followed up as required.
  • Ensure that you are always equipped to respond to customer and representative requests, especially when travelling.
  • Liaise with all necessary parties to ensure post-sales support is effective. At all times be aware as to the status of customers regarding the business relationship with them.
  • To communicate travel plans to your Manager such that visits and plans can be coordinated.
  • Produce detailed visit reports within a reasonable period following a visit. These are to be submitted via the CRM system.
  • Provide marketing information as to customer requirements, regional trends, competitors, etc as required.
  • Use the CRM system to record sales activities and opportunities.
  • Ability to provide technical, application, product and sales support to customers.
  • Liaise with Customers and Representatives to select suitable products for applications. This may also involve the development of new products and in working with the Engineering teams during projects.
  • Where appropriate, participate as part of an integrated project team in the design and development of the Company's products.

Requirements:

  • Must be fluent in English and German
  • Relevant sales experience, a proven record of accomplishment in the Off/On Highway markets and the proven ability to demonstrate competence to carry out the requirements of the role successfully.
  • Must be prepared to travel frequently as required.
  • Proven sales background and the delivering against financial targets
  • Technical competence with an engineering background
  • Team Player with excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate confidently and persuasively with a wide variety of people, up to very senior levels.
  • Prepare for, attend and contribute actively to meetings as required, and take all follow-up actions in agreed timescales.
  • Excellent organisational skills, the ability to meet deadlines and to work under pressure.
  • Highly self-motivated and the ability to work without supervision.
  • Participation in exhibitions, overseas travel will be required and is central to the role.
