An exciting and challenging opportunity to work and be part of a team in a newly built Curtiss-Wright facility in Summerville SC!


The Opportunity | Sr. Accountant 


This position will be located in Summerville, South Carolina, but will require several months of training in the Wellsville, NY facility prior to opening of the new factory in the fall of 2019.


Summary:


Develops and oversees with very minimal supervision the reconciliation of general ledger accountability and financial reporting, as well as financial profitability analysis and other special projects as assigned to inspect and ensure all accounts are updated and accurate. Serves as subject matter expert within the function.


Major Accountabilities/Deliverables:



  • Performs advanced or specialized work that requires comprehensive knowledge of accounting theory and principles.

  • Works with the team to streamline processes for efficiency and effectiveness and deliver more useful reports and analysis.

  • Performs complex statistical analyses to determine trends, estimates, significant changes, and writes narrative reports explaining findings.

  • Analyzes financial information and financial status to support various internal and external audits to ensure compliance.

  • Lead peers in various projects; participates in department process improvement initiatives.

  • May design accounting information systems to facilitate analysis and develop non-standard reports and statements.

Minimum Education Required: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance with relevant accounting experience.


Minimum skills and competencies:



  • 7-10 years of related accounting experience in particular to GL and consolidation.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills with knowledge of MS Office.

  • Self-motivated, work independently with little supervision

  • Experience with consolidating financials and loading financials into Corporate Finance Systems

  • Advance MS Excel skills including pivot tables and equations driven

  • Exceptional knowledge of accounting, financial skills and analyzing the information related data.

  • Thorough knowledge of the organization's systems and can modify or develop new procedures to meet specialized needs.

Must be a sole US citizen and able to obtain and maintain DOD security clearance
