Test Technician

Under close supervision, assists in day-to-day operations involving non-metallic materials. Performs routine tasks, including operating and maintaining equipment, composites machining, as well as conducting analysis and experimental procedures. The nonmet test technician will also be responsible for keeping work areas clean and organized.

Location: Lansing, NY

Hours: First Shift

Your Challenge:

  • Conduct routine preparations, including machining procedures such as saw cutting, milling, and drilling of composite and plastic materials.
  • Tests samples in various ways, which may include using elevated temperature or cryogenic chambers, axial load frames, and specialty fixtures.
  • Perform maintenance on equipment per PM schedule and instructions.
  • Perform work in accordance with proper work procedures and in a safe manner.
  • Complete assignments on scheduled due dates and keep management informed of problems that affect workflow.
  • Assist in keeping work areas presentable. Additional emphasis will be placed on customer tours and audits.

Your Expertise:

  • High School or Equivalent required. 
  • Technical/Trade School desired. 
  • Machine shop experience or mechanical aptitude
  • Excellent manual dexterity
  • Experience with basic hand tools and measuring equipment. 
  • Ability to take initiative, responsibility, and leadership in a team environment
  • Strong communications and interpersonal skills
