Associate Program Manager

This position supports a Program Manager in the execution of one or more ongoing production, development, or spares programs. The Associate Program Manager will be required to coordinate with multiple departments in support of customer delivery requirements and/or complete program specific milestones within specific budgets and schedules. The position strives to ensure responsive action on externally and internally identified risks and issues potentially impacting program or product quality or technical compliance, cost, schedule, or customer satisfaction. Direct customer communication will also be frequently required in support of program needs.

Location: Shelby, NC

Your Challenge:

  • Interface with customer(s) on a daily basis
  • Assist identified Program Manager(s) with recurring administrative efforts and other required tasks
  • Establish and maintain effective customer relationships to best ensure both program goals and overall customer satisfaction targets are achieved
  • Coordinate with various departments and/or facilities in support of program objectives
  • Facilitate proposal efforts for production, non-recurring engineering, and/or spares activities as directed. Achieve and sustain timely solicitation response metrics
  • Development and monitoring of Key Performance Indicators (both external and internal)
  • Maintain delivery schedules and forecasts for program(s)
  • Responsible for Accounts Receivable performance of customer(s)
  • Ensures acceptable turn time (target <30 days) on customer returns

Your Expertise:

  • 2-3 years of experience in a complex manufacturing environment within a program department
  • Bachelor's degree BA/BS or job-related experience
  • Aerospace/defense industry background and government contracting experience preferred
  • Sound understanding of key program financial metrics -- including gross margin, return on sales, days sales outstanding preferred
  • The ability to juggle internal vs. external stakeholder demands while maintaining composure and clear-thinking is essential
  • Solid understanding of Excel and ERP systems a plus

This position may require exposure to information which is subject to US export control regulations such as the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must meet eligibility requirements of the ITAR and of the Controlled Goods Directorate (CGD).
