Chemist, Senior

Independently performs high quality inorganic and/or organic chemical analyses to meet customer expectations in a timely and cost effective manner. Independent activities include method development, sample preparation, technical consultation, testing, data review and reporting, and training other lab personnel in chemistry.

Your Challenge:

  • Conduct metallic and/or nonmetallic materials evaluations, coordinate the input of other departments and report results in an accurate and timely manner. Perform all work in accordance with proper work procedures and in accordance with IMR safety guidelines
  • Develop test methods to permit effective and efficient laboratory operations.
  • Interface with customers on a regular, proactive basis to ensure that the highest level of customer satisfaction is maintained.
  • Exhibit and maintain a high level of metallic and/or nonmetallic materials skills and knowledge. Keep abreast of new developments in the field. Serve as a resident expert and a technical resource for others.
  • Train other employees within and across departments on test methods, procedures and other practices as required and appropriate.
  • Keep management informed in a timely manner of administrative and technical activities, status of programs, problem areas (including, but not limited to potential test problems, potential late jobs, and questionable data and/or results) and corrective actions.

Your Expertise:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry or related field, Master's Degree preferred
  • At least 4-6 years in a test lab or industrial setting

This position may require exposure to information that is subject to US export control regulations, i.e. the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) or the Export Administration Regulations (EAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of U.S. regulations.
