Engineering Technician

Under general supervision, supports engineering activities such as design, test, check-out, modification, fabrication and assembly of different types of systems, devices and/or equipment. Works from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts or defined plans to perform testing, checkout and trouble-shooting functions.

Location: Idaho Falls, ID

Your Challenge:

  • Modifying existing designs to meet new requirements.
  • Provide complete product documentation packages.
  • Provide assistance to clients on phone, online, or on-site.
  • Perform independent technical review of test data.
  • Assembles and tests prototypes and generates build instructions to support production.
  • Analyze and troubleshoot electronic systems and circuitry.
  • Use traditional electronics test equipment.
  • Create, design, and develop test fixtures.

Your Expertise:

  • Associate's degree preferred, or 4-6 years of relevant experience.
  • Must have a knowledge of electronics.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Previous experience writing technical documents is required.
  • Experience with AutoCAD and PCB layout a plus.
  • Familiar with basic analog circuits and components.
  • Skilled in manufacturing practices, workflow, and Lean manufacturing concepts.
  • Samples of technical writing are required.
