The Opportunity | Field Hydraulics Technician - Nuclear Power


Under minimal supervision, the Field Hydraulic Technician- Nuclear Power provides technical support to engineers, on site or field, on a variety of complex technical tasks. Gathers, maintains, formats and analyzes technical data, such as laboratory or material test results and engineering design changes. Produces engineering documentation, reports and drawings. Conducts tests and records data. Performs complex calculations and interprets results.



Major Accountabilities /Deliverables




  • Gathers, maintains, formats and analyzes technical data, such as laboratory or material test results and engineering design changes.

  • Produces engineering documentation, reports and drawings. Conducts tests and records data.

  • Installs, maintains, repairs, overhauls, troubleshoots, modifies and tests various types of electrical, electronic and/or mechanical equipment and related devices using various test equipment.

  • Understands and interprets general electrical & mechanical drawings. Applies general technical knowledge of electronic principles in order to put equipment in operational condition and solve problems.

  • Builds, develops and maintains productive relationships with clients and vendors while maintaining a high level of quality technical service.


Qualifications:



  • 4-6 years' experience working in a service environment with electromechanical devices

  • Must have previous experience with fluid power or industrial hydraulics (components, testing, troubleshooting, systems), nuclear industry preferred

  • Ability to read an interpret hydraulic schematics, electrical schematics and assembly drawings

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • Technical Diploma an asset
