The Opportunity | Laser Engineer (2nd Shift)
Curtiss-Wright Surface Technologies is looking to hire a Laser Engineer to work on government base in Cherry Point, NC on a second shift schedule. 
Your Challenge

  • Planned maintenance and repair of a Nd:glass slab laser and associated optical system

  • Supporting a range of related equipment

  • Flexibility to work in a small job shop environment to pitch in and do other tasks as necessary.

  • Working in a small multi disciplinary team.

  • Requires bending, sitting and standing.

  • Working with various software packages.
Your Expertise

  • Must be a U.S. citizen.

  • 2 years experience of working with high energy laser systems and associated equipment.

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Windows and/or Linux based programs.

  • AS or BS in a relevant field (optics, physics, engineering, etc.) helpful, but not required.

  • Prior experience in construction, operation or maintenance of high energy pulse lasers;

  • Ability to assemble, align, & troubleshoot laser oscillators & high voltage pulse forming networks (PFNs);

  • Robot and PLC programming experience helpful, but not required.

  • Knowledge of vacuum systems helpful, but not required.
