Mechanical Design Engineer

Be part of our Design Engineering team. You will have the opportunity to works with a team of mechanical engineers in the areas of design, analysis, qualification and project engineering. In a fast paced and high demand environment, the engineer will develop technical solutions for emerging problems in our existing products as well as new product development. The position involves working with valves, actuators, and similar mechanical equipment and structures utilized in nuclear power plants.

Location: Brea, CA

Your Challenge:

  • Design parts and assemblies for various product lines (e.g. valves, hydraulic assemblies, and actuators)
  • Create schematic, and assembly drawings using Solidworks or AutoCAD
  • Generate manufacturing drawings for parts and determine manufacturing processes and specify tolerancing requirements
  • Develop engineering solutions and proposal documentation for RFQs and RFIs
  • Collaborate with the analysis team on parts or assemblies that require FEA or CFD
  • Communicate with customers on project and design related challenges
  • Required travel time is less than 5%

Your Expertise:

  • Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalent
  • 3-5 years of Mechanical Design experience
  • Knowledge and experience in industrial and machine design
  • Understanding of different manufacturing processes: casting, machining, grinding, lapping, additive manufacturing, fabrication etc.
  • Proficiency in CAD modeling using SolidWorks
  • Proficiency in GD&T and related standards for drawing creation
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD for layout and schematics is a plus
  • Familiarity with industry standards related to valves (ASME, ANSI, API) is a plus
