Our Dayton, OH site is part of our Defense Solutions division, and more specifically the System Solutions group. This group is comprised of the following business units: Parvus, VDS, Data Solutions, and Integrated Systems. Together these business units develop a range of aerospace and defense systems including networking systems, mission computers, video management systems, data recording and storage systems as well as 3U VPX solutions + SMS-684, HPEC + Core SCC solutions, and avionics.

The Opportunity | Quality Engineer

As a Hands-on, senior member of our Quality Engineering team, you will design, implement and maintain quality assurance protocols and methods to ensure an effective overall Business/Quality Management System. You will be responsible for planning, implementing and managing compliance of design, manufacturing and support processes with an internal and external safety, quality and regulatory standards requirements for worldwide distribution.



Your Challenge

  • Responsible for planning, implementing, and managing compliance of design, manufacturing and support processes with an internal and external safety, quality, and regulatory standards requirements for worldwide distribution.
  • Design methods and procedures for inspecting, testing, and evaluating the precision and accuracy of production processes, production equipment and finished products.
  • Perform analysis of reports and data to identify trends throughout the Business /Quality Management Systems and recommend updates or changes to quality standards and procedures when necessary.
  • Drive continuous improvement throughout the organization with support from management.
  • Assure compliance to in-house and/or external specifications and standards (i.e. DFAR, RoHS, REACH, AS9100D).
  • Participate and may lead internal and supplier audits.
  • Oversees Failure Review and Corrective Action Process.
  • Defines and develops quality standards for receiving, in-process and final inspection in accordance with company and contractual requirements.
  • Prepare and provide product assurance documentation as required by customer programs.
  • Participate and lead customer-facing meetings related to Quality.
  • Participate in Design and Phase gate reviews.
  • Review and draft quality responses related to proposals.

Your Expertise

  • Minimum 7 years in a quality engineering environment
  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering or Quality-related field
  • Internal lead auditor certification; LEAN/Six Sigma green belt certification is a plus
  • Knowledge of the APQP framework, SPC methodology is desired
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and interpersonal skills;
  • Excellent organization, planning, problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • High customer and quality focus.
