Quality Specialist

The Quality Specialist performs a variety of Quality Assurance / Quality Control activities in a dynamic facility that provides inspection, test and engineering services to the Nuclear industry.

Your Challenge:

  • Assistance in the development of inspection and test plans;
  • Reviews inspection and test reports;
  • Assistance in the qualification process of vendors, review of purchasing documents and vendor performance analysis;
  • Performs inspection of mechanical and electrical assemblies, machined or welded parts, and related hardware within a nuclear manufacturing environment.
  • Assistance in ensuring that acceptable quality levels are maintained;
  • Inspection of product packaging and review of shipping documents;
  • Co-ordination of calibration activities of measuring and test equipment;
  • Maintaining of Quality Assurance databases;
  • Identification and resolution of problems, generating and review of nonconformance reports;
  • Performs analysis of failure and rejection reports to identify project failure trends and provides recommendations for corrective action;
  • Assistance in performance of system and process audits;
  • This position requires very high attention to detail.

Your Expertise:

  • Minimum 2 years' experience in QA/QC
  • Proficient in the interpretation of complex engineering drawings, schematics and process plans
  • Basic knowledge of calibration and testing
  • Nuclear, Automotive or Aerospace industry experience preferred
  • Experience with electrical components is an asset
  • Bachelor of Engineering or equivalent
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001:2015

This position may require exposure to information that is subject to US export control regulations such as the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must meet the eligibility requirements of the ITAR and of the Controlled Goods Directorate (CGD).
