The Opportunity | Sales Engineer


The Sales Engineer will be responsible for prospecting for new clients for the various laboratory locations within AS. They will also actively search for new clients, work to penetrate the organization to reach the decision influencers and makers, present AS's services as a solution to their testing needs, and turn them into active customers. The Sales Manager will work with the various sales and technical resources within AS to assure efforts are directed at the appropriate market segments.



Your Challenge


  • Develop strong understanding of the many analytical services offered by AS. Become proficient at working within the various market segments we serve.

  • Work with Manager to learn more about the overall marketing and sales management strategy of AS and be able to contribute to that strategy as well as participate in implementation.

  • Work with Marketing department to develop appropriate lists of contacts in the targeted market and service segments of the various groups

  • Work with the appropriate personnel to successfully turn those contacts into customers

  • Make regular visits to both new clients and existing clients to generate new business. Travel to include multi-day trips as necessary.

  • Generate regular trip/contact reports to keep appropriate individuals informed of activities and opportunities.

  • Identify new service opportunities and present compelling arguments for pursuing them, as appropriate. Act as an advocate/champion for driving these opportunities to decision. Create written reports for presenting these opportunities to management team.

  • Be prepared to perform cross-selling with other Curtiss-Wright Surface Technologies groups, such as Shot Peening, Parylene and Thermal Spray, as directed by management.

  • Participate as needed in Trade Shows and Technical Conferences as scheduled by Manager.

  • Other duties as directed by manager


Your Expertise



  • Technical Background and relevant industry experience in technical sales and relationship-based selling

  • Five years' experience selling laboratory services or related products. Proven experience in relationship based selling.

  • Experience in Aerospace, Medical, Metals, or other high technology materials markets preferred.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with highly technical people, both internally and externally.



This position may require exposure to information that is subject to US export control regulations, i.e. the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) or the Export Administration Regulations (EAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of U.S. regulations.
