We are seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to join our team! Based out Santa Clarita CA or Dayton OH

As the Senior Financial Analyst you are responsible for providing financial analysis, support and control to various departments within Curtiss-Wright Defense Solutions, a $500 M division of Curtiss-Wright.

Responsibilities

  • Perform month-end closing duties and general ledger account reconciliations related to inventory, cost of goods sold and project cost estimates;
  • Prepare a monthly excess and obsolete inventory reserve analysis/journal entry;
  • Analyze and report on manufacturing cost center spending variances to budget and forecast
  • Analyze, report and forecast project related data (revenue and cost);
  • Prepare timely customer progress billings related to actual project cost incurred;
  • Prepare weekly reports for management related to past due accounts receivable and cash collection;
  • Perform timely SAP processes to transfer direct and indirect costs to projects, production orders and service orders;
  • Ensure that hourly labor time charging is accurate and complete in the ERP system for bi-weekly payroll purposes;
  • Analyze and report on manufacturing inventory cycle count performance;
  • Assist with fixed asset accounting, budgeting, and auditing;
  • Ad Hoc reporting and analysis;
  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting on an as needed basis;
  • General accounting and finance tasks as required;
  • Backup and support for other members of the finance team;
  • Aid in various internal/external audits including Sarbanes-Oxley controls testing

Your Expertise:

  • Thorough understanding of general and cost accounting principles and practices;
  • Must be able to work with Excel/Word and PowerPoint at an advanced level;
  • SAP knowledge would be an asset;
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written);
  • Able to work effectively as part of a team, ability to work with cross-functional teams and to train staff to follow procedures and use system tools;
  • Ability to develop and write procedures, as well as implement cost analysis for process improvements and audit support;
  • Excellent analytical skills to collect data, understand significance, explain issues, and recommend solutions;
  • Excellent technical ability, including ability to work with integrated ERP systems preferably SAP expertise;

  • Experience working with standard costing within a project based system would be an asset;
  • Ability to embrace change with enthusiasm for continuous improvement.

Education/Experience

  • A post secondary diploma/degree from a college or university in Accounting and or Business
  • Attainment or working towards a professional accounting designation
  • 5-7 years of related experience preferably in a manufacturing or high technology environment
