The Curtiss-Wright Defense Solutions facility in Ashburn, Virginia specializes in development of high-performance processing solutions targeted at Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) applications.

Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance is an essential part of modern military operations. Operating on land, at sea and in the air, ISR systems are at their best when they provide actionable information to guide decisions for military missions; the decision maker may be a theater-level commander, a squad leader at the front edge of a battlefield, or someone at any level in between.

Software Engineer Intern

Location: Ashburn, VA

Your Challenge:

  • Writing and implementing custom test software for embedded products
  • Board support package (BSP) development for processing boards
  • Software or hardware testing on ruggedized high-performance processing boards
  • Joining a project team and participating in various tasks such as debugging, testing, software development, and research
  • Prepare portal and product pages for the design team
  • Prepare intuitive user interface

Your Expertise:

  • Use of various form factors, chassis, and other related devices
  • Familiarity with ruggedized processing boards which includes various software and hardware components such as Intel & ARM processors, FPGAs, PCIe Switch, and Mellanox chips
  • Knowledge of various Linux operating systems (i.e. CentOS, Redhat, Ubuntu, etc.) and usage
  • Experience with Atlassian Confluence tool is a plus but not required
