Software Engineer

The Software Engineer is responsible for designing and developing software for TCG's Tactical Communications Manager (TCM) software applications. The Software Engineer will be part of small team (3-6) of software engineers under the supervision of a Lead Software Engineer. The Software Engineer will be assigned to one or more software development projects typically 6-9 months in duration. In addition, the Software Engineer will be responsible for assisting in the maintenance of TCG's TCM software at the direction of the Lead Engineer.

Your Challenge:

  • Develop new software applications within the TCG TCM software architecture
  • Modify existing software and troubleshooting issues.
  • Help maintain code quality, organization and documentation
  • Travel to customer sites for debugging/testing of software

Your Expertise:

  • BS/BE Degree in Software Engineering or 3+ years equivalent experience
  • 3+ year Software Development (design & programming) experience
  • Java/C++ development in Windows and/or Linux environments
  • Experience with full lifecycle of the software engineering process including functional specification, design, implementation, and testing
  • Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to focus on and complete tasks with attention to detail and organization

Highly Desired:

  • MS Visual Studio or Eclipse/InteliJ
  • Application development in Windows/Linux environment
  • Experience with GUI design and development
  • Experience developing multi-threaded applications
  • Any prior experience with Tactical Data Links would be a strong bonus

This position requires a US clearance and may include extended on-site development at a USAF air base. It further requires exposure to information which is subject to US export control regulations, i.e. the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) or the Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
