Administrative Assistant - Purchasing

The EMD business unit of the Electro-Mechanical Systems division of Curtiss-Wright, located in Cheswick, PA, is seeking an Administrative Assistant to support the purchasing team. The ideal candidate will play a key role within the Sourcing department, assisting the Team responsible for securing various commodities/services in the production of goods. This position requires an energetic, proactive individual with excellent organizational and communication skills and the willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment assisting a diverse group of associates.

Location: Cheswick, PA

Your Challenges:

• Performs and coordinates all administrative activities associated with day-to-day operations of the Sourcing department
• Performs all logistical duties for the department including developing travel itineraries, making travel arrangements, and creating expense reports
• Designs and develops effective and efficient methods to track high priority actions to ensure departmental and organizational objectives are satisfied
• Creates, executes, and distributes numerous reports from the company computer systems
• Composes correspondence (i.e. letters, procedures, etc.) in an accurate and timely manner
• Defines, develops, and implements new and creative administrative processes to streamline and improve efficiencies of current departmental processes

Your Expertise:

• High School graduate with completion of business school training or its equivalent
• Minimum two years' experience as an Administrative Assistant or similar
• Very familiar and comfortable with all office equipment (computers, copiers, printers, etc.) and computer software
• Highly proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Ability to work autonomously and with minimal supervision
• Self-starter, highly motivated, action-oriented, proactive, collaborative, and results-driven
• Excellent organizational, communication (written and oral), and time management skills
• Must be US citizen and be able to obtain and maintain DOD security clearance
