The Opportunity | Area Sales Manager


The Area Sales Manager is responsible for selling the company's products and growing the business in an assigned UK/European territory and named accounts. Primary responsibility includes developing accounts and expanding customer revenues, identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, generating and developing new OEM/VAR partners in order to sell the company's products to end-users. Working with conjunction with Field Application Engineers and Business Unit product managers, new business pursuits will involve a structured multi-level sales efforts which will demand building credibility and developing relationships both externally and internally.



Location: Flexible (accommodations can be made for those not local to Cardiff but able to travel for 3-4 office days per month)



Your Challenge:



  • Assists in developing sales strategies that will produce maximum market penetration.

  • Identifies objectives, strategies, and action plans to improve short- and long-term sales and earnings.

  • Reviews market analyses to determine customer needs, price schedules, and discount rates. Analyzes sales statistics to formulate policy and promote sales.

  • Delivers sales presentations to key clients in coordination with sales representatives. Meets with key clients, assisting sales representative with maintaining relationships and negotiating and closing deals.

  • May ensure the effective use of the sales accountability program throughout the division and interpret long and short term effect on sales strategies on operating profit.

  • Maintaining reliable forecasts

  • Establishes and maintains close personal contact with top echelon customers. Attends a variety of conferences and other external meetings to explore sales opportunities.




Your Expertise:


This is an excellent opportunity with further growth potential for the right candidate who encompasses the following:



  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Sales, Marketing or Engineering degree.

  • 4-6 years' experience in sales or marketing.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills, presentation skills and knowledge of MS Office.

  • Background in engineering,,

  • Experience in technical sales or marketing within embedded computing or ruggedized systems.

  • Excellent relationship management skills and commitment to customer satisfaction with a proven track record in year over year sales growth.

  • Travel requirement will be up to 50%
