The Opportunity | Assembler, Winding Room

An opportunity has arisen within the Industrial Production Department for a winding room technician. We seek a self-motivated individual working within a team dedicated to the manufacture of windings to meet Customer demands (internal and external).

Your Challenge:

  • Setting up and effective operation of all equipment and machinery within the winding room.

  • Adhere to all safely requirements.

  • Working on own initiative and as part of a team, to achieve production targets and quality standards.

  • Review and monitor the product requirements/specification with emphasis of First Off concept.

  • Carry out the visual inspection of windings, using visual equipment.

  • Use of test equipment to verify quality and windings are to specification (resistance, linearity, output smoothness)

  • Collation of date in regard to test results and batch control.

  • Effective liaison, team working and interaction with other departments to ensure continuous monitoring and maintenance of machinery.

  • Set up with Process Engineering a TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) schedule to improve equipment effectiveness with an emphasis on proactive and preventative maintenance.

  • Promote 6S and maintain high housekeeping standards

  • Good communication skills, liaising with the Supervisor and Production Engineering department.

Your Expertise:

  • Computer literate.

  • Good manual dexterity.

  • Self-motivated and committed to succeed.

  • Have the ability to work unsupervised, on their own due to the nature of the role.

  • Flexible to meet the needs of the business.

  • Ability to work under pressure, produce quality work and have attention to detail.

  • Must be compatible with the existing team.

  • Preferably previous experience in a similar role or experience with mechanical machinery.

This position may require exposure to information which is subject to export control regulations such as the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
