The Opportunity | Buyer
Location: Middleburg Heights, OH (greater Cleveland area)
Type: Full-time, Regular position
 
Under general direction, performs a variety of routine buying/purchasing tasks involving materials, supplies, or services. Reviews purchase requirements and places orders with approved suppliers. Evaluates bids, select and/or recommend suppliers and negotiate price, delivery, quality and service. Follows up on all awards until completion of order.
 
Your Challenge:

  • Purchase and maintain proper inventory levels of all raw materials and finished goods.

  • Perform JIT (just in time) purchasing.

  • Maintain and administrate vendor consignment contracts.

  • Review and maintain proper safety stock levels.

  • Negotiate vendor pricing.

  • Monitor and report vendor performance.

  • Maintain a neat and clean work area.
 
Your Expertise:

  • 2-3 years of related experience in a manufacturing environment and/or supply chain

  • Bachelor's Degree (Business Administration, Supply Chain)

  • Knowledge of material management functions which includes procurement planning and processes.

  • Experience with inventory management and consignment 

  • Experience with price negotiations

  • Ability to effectively communicate with others

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • MS Office experience required

  • Experience in Syteline or other ERP/MRP system preferred

  • Display an understanding of the importance of product quality and compliance to health and safety procedures.
