The Opportunity | IT Security Administrator

This position will support configuration, maintenance and reliable operations of Business Unit computer systems, local network connections and applications across multiple facilities, with a focus on security. This position will help drive introduction, implementation and maintenance of cybersecurity policies and procedures that are consistent with organizational objectives, industry practices, and applicable regulatory requirements. The role will also support peripheral organizational programs related to general and regulated data/document control and protection.

Your Challenge

  • Engages in installation, configuration, oversight and maintenance of local facility IT infrastructure, including firewalls, networking equipment, servers, databases, malware protection software and other processes. Creates and sets end-user accounts, access rights, permissions, user authentication protocol, and storage allocations in accordance with organizational policies/programs, established cybersecurity frameworks and IT best-practices.

  • Ensures the integrity and security of data on host computers, multiple databases and during data transfer in accordance with industry best practice and regulatory requirements.

  • Participates in IT asset management, including maintenance of network component inventory, related documentation and technical specifications information. Analyzes system, server, application, network, and input/output device performance. Performs and tests routine system backups and restores.

  • Initiates and/or participates in the development, implementation and maintenance of facility-level System Security Plans. Conducts site assessments to ensure alignment with cybersecurity and data protection policies. Responds to IT and data security incidents, engaging appropriate Corporate Compliance and Operations managers

  • Recommends, schedules, and performs software and hardware improvements, upgrades, patches, reconfigurations, and provides advisement on purchases.

  • Provides technical support and training to facility management on IT security protocol and peripheral facility operations relative to management of covered business and personnel data/documents.

  • Supports Business Unit alignment with customer, industry and regulatory cybersecurity programs, as well as corresponding assessments of applied practices (e.g. ISO27001/NIST800-171).

Your Expertise

  • 2-3 Years' experience as a Systems Administrator.

  • A CompTIA certification is an asset.

  • Ability to travel up to 75%

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field.

  • Must be comfortable in configuration and installation of Windows and Linux servers, LAN Administration, WiFi Mesh Systems, Hardware Firewalls, VMs and Managed Switch configurations.

  • General knowledge of IT security.

  • Hands-on software and hardware troubleshooting experience.

  • Customer service orientation.

  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in an operational environment.

  • Experience with network asset management and infrastructure auditing.

  • Familiarity with NIST800-171, ISO27001 or equivalent.

  • Strong interpersonal and oral communication skills.
